Havana, May 13.- Cuba closed with two gold and two bronze medals its performance in the fourth stop of the 2019 North, Central America and Caribbean (NORCECA) beach volleyball tour, with stage at Varadero beach resort.
The titles went to the unbeaten duos of Leila Martinez-Maylen Delis (women) and Sergio Gonzalez-Luis Reyes (men), main pairs of the host nation, while the couples of Yanisleidis Sanchez-Lidiannis Benitez and Yosvany Delgado- Karell Peña finished third in the women´s and men´s events each.
According to the website of the contest, Martinez and Delis defeated 2-0 (21-18 and 21-13) Americans Fonoimoana-Martin in the final, result with which they added their fourth crown in a row in the 2019 circuit.
They have previously won the NORCECA stops of Mexico, Cayman Islands and Nicaragua, in that order.
Gonzalez and Reyes won the gold medal match 2-0 (22-20 and 21-16) over Nicaragua´s Mora-López, thus earning their second scepter, as they previously amounted a medal of each color in the three aforementioned stops.
Meanwhile, for the pairs Sanchez-Benitez and Delgado-Peña these were their first medals in the 2019 NORCECA beach volleyball tour. (acn)
