Camagüey, May 13 - Promoted by the delegation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA) in Camagüey province, the workshop Tarea Vida: information and communication for the socialization of knowledge, aimed at fostering a preventive culture on climate change, takes place in this city from today.
The event also seeks to exchange experiences, mechanisms and strategies generated by scientific researches, and to contribute to risk perception of phenomena such as drought, forest fires, soil loss, tornadoes, cyclones and penetrations of the sea.
Several conferences led by researchers and specialists on environmental issues are included in the event's agenda, where topics such as disaster risk reduction, adaptation to climate change in local development planning, management of information and knowledge, and education for the prevention of these emergency situations are addressed.
The impact of climate change is increasingly visible in Cuba. For this reason, it is absolutely necessary to get ready in all sectors of the society, in line with the implementation of the plan of the Tarea Vida (Task Life), hence the participation of journalists and communicators of various entities of the territory.
