Havana, May 23.- The Cuban National Ballet (BNC) will carry out a tour of several Spanish cities from May 24 to July 14, the company announced.
According to a statement from the company, the choreographies chosen to perform in Spain are 'Cinderella', a version by Pedro Consuegra, and 'Swan Lake', with choreography by Alicia Alonso on the original piece by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov.
The first performance will take place in Oviedo and from there, the company will move through theaters of the Basque Country, Andalusia, Madrid and Barcelona.
The main roles of the performances will be by Viengsay Valdes, Anette Delgado, Dani Hernandez, Grettel Morejon, Raul Abreu, Chanell Cabrera, Claudia Garcia, Ginett Moncho, Yankiel Vazquez, Adrian Sanchez and Ernesto Diaz.
Felix Rodriguez, Ely Regina Hernandez and Chavela Riera will also participate, supported by a renewed corps de ballet that -according to the company's statement- will show on stage the continuous development of the Cuban ballet school.
For the first time, Valdes will be in charge of a tour, after she became on January 22, 2019 the artistic Deputy Director of Cuba's National Ballet, headed by legendary Alicia Alonso. (PL)
