Havana, Sep 11 - Led by the Olympic and world multi-champion Mijain Lopez, a large group of Cuban wrestlers signed contracts with German Bundesliga clubs.
At Havana´s Sports City Coliseum, Lopez (Greco-Roman - +130 kg) and the universal monarch Yowlys Bonne (Free-Style - 61 kg) said yes to the club ASV Nendingen.
"Being with the Nendingen is one more opportunity to continue showing the conditions of Cuban wrestling," Bonne told ACN.
"Before joining the competitions in the German Bundesliga, we will attend the Nur-Sultan Senior World Championship, in Kazakhstan, from next September 14-22," he added.
Six other Cubans, Daniel Gregorich (GR - 87), Oscar Pino (GR - 130), Reineri Andreu (FS - 60), Luis Orta (GR - 60), Javier Dumenigo (GR - 60) and Alejandro Valdes (FS - 67); signed with the SV 04 Germania Weingarten.
"To the WC of Kazakhstan we are also going to look for the qualification to Tokyo 2020 Olympics and to achieve that goal we have to be among the best six by division," said Pino.
In the last WC edition held in Budapest, Hungary, Bonne ranked first, while Valdes, Pino and Franklin Maren were bronze medalists.(ACN)
