Camagüey, Oct. 8.- With the objective of strengthening the joint work of the sugar sector with the University of Camagüey, the Agroindustrial Fair and Workshop will be held on October 22 and 23, to expose the technological advances introduced and the best practices applied to the different productions.
The meeting also aims to encourage scientific research that results in an improvement in the indicators of efficiency in obtaining sugar, responsible for around 80% of the province's exports, thus generating considerable revenues to the national economy.
From the academic point of view, the event will also serve as motivation for the incorporation of recent graduates, because it will take place at the University of Camagüey, where media and equipment used in the sugar industry will be dispalyed.
As part of the program, several conferences will be given on the cultivation and harvest of sugarcane, industrial productions with sugar as a leading product, derivatives and their use in other branches of economy.
The Agroindustrial Fair and Workshop , sponsored by the Sugar Company of Camagüey and the Ignacio Agramonte University, will have several work commissions in charge of computerization and automation of processes, human and rural development, and capacity, efficiency and quality, among other themes.
The event acquires relevance in a context in which better results are required from this sector, possible with the use of science and technology, a call reiterated by the president of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.
