Scheduling for the Cuban Culture Day begins in Camagüey



Camagüey, Oct. 10.- Starting today, Camagüey celebrates the Day of Cuban Culture, with the participation of all cultural institutions, theatrical premieres and excellent concerts.

As part of this extensive program, the Provincial Council of Performing Arts has organized its proposals, on Fridays at the Abracadabra room, on Saturdays at the La Edad de Oro theater, and on both nights of next weekend the Tasende Cultural Center will hold the premiere of Autumn, by the Teatro del Viento company.

The Ballet de Camagüey will present this Sunday at 5:00 pm, at the Principal theater with a concert program that includes the works Reminiscence, Spring waters, Alfonsina and the third act of Don Quijote.

The Folk Ballet will also present on Saturday 19th at 8:30pm and on Sunday 20th at 10:00 in the morning, a function dedicated to the ConjuntoArtísticoArlequín, which has just celebrated its 20th anniversary.

Likewise, Contemporary Ballet will be on stage on the 25th and 26th, at the usual hours in the Avellaneda theater, with two premieres: El Sitio, by Osnel Delgado, director of the Havana company Mal Paso, and Memories, by Lisandra Gómez, in addition to the rerun of Catharsis, presented last August.

On the other hand, the José MarínVarona concert hall has reserved a special program from October 10 to 19, with performances every day from 5:00 in the afternoon.

Among the guests will be the Unión saxophone quartet, Henry Hernández and the renowned local singer LiudmilaPardillo, who celebrates 20 years of artistic carrer.

A concert at the headquarters of the Symphony Orchestra, where the group will be accompanied by the Youth Orchestra of the José White Conservatory, on the 19th, will enrich the month´s music scene.

In all the municipalities that have a concert band, including the provincial capital, a presentation will be held on Sunday 13, which will take place simultaneously throughout the country, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution and the Cuban Culture Day, an opportunity to reaffirm Cuban art.
