Havana, Oct. 10.- Cubans Carlos Daniel Albornoz and RoxangelObregón were confirmed among the nearly 200 participants who from next Tuesday will look for the World Youth Chess crown, in the Indian city of New Delhi.
A total of 94 players were announced in the men's sector and 95 for girls, in a competition that according to reports by their organizers will hold their technical congress next Tuesday and in the afternoon the first of the 11 rounds scheduled until 25 will be played.
Albornoz, national champion, is the fifth pre-classified among men with 2581 Elo points, while his partner appears in the 22nd seat, with 2267.
Iranian Amin Tabatabaei owns 2642 and is the highest ranking in the men´s section, competing with the local MuraliKarthikeyan (2617) and ChithambaramVr. Aravindh (2609) and the German DmitrijKollars (2587).
Latin America will be present with Chileans SebastiánDonoso (2203) and Alexis Andrés Aravena (two 023), much less experienced to face this champ where Europeans and Asians are always the majority.
