Lima, Oct. 19. - The so-called Lima Group, made up governments opposed to that of Venezuela, expressed annoyance over the country´s triumph with its election as a member of the UN Human Rights Council.
The governments of the aforementioned group said in a statement that they "deeply deplore" that most of the countries in the world have chosen the Venezuelan government for that instance, which they describe as "illegitimate and dictatorial" and accuse of violating human rights.
The position expressed coincides with that of the United States, which tried to prevent without success the aforementioned election, as part of its hostile policy to Venezuela.
The statement insists on the group's desire to promote what they call "the recovery of democracy and the rule of law in Venezuela," which for the government of Caracas means destroying the legitimate Bolivarian revolutionary process, which is the objective shared by the so-called Lima group with Washington.
