From Camagüey, French solidarity against the blockade

Camagüey, Nov. 7.- Members of the French solidarity movement with Cuba that visit this city reaffirmed their rejection to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on the island by the US Government, during an exchange with trade unionists from the railway sector in the province.

The national president of the Association of Friendship France-Cuba, Didier Philippe, said at the meeting on Wednesday that they have sufficient reasons to support just causes, such as those in Cuba for the suppression of the blockade and the return of the Guantanamo naval base.

Philippe, leader of the movement that emerged in 1961, which has accompanied Cuba in the most difficult moments, was one of the participants in the recent Anti-Imperialist Solidarity Meeting, for Democracy and Against Neoliberalism held in Havana, and said that the country is an example for the struggles of its people and whenever he comes here he returns to his homeland with new ideas.

This Thursday, the French  visitors will approach the people of Camaguey, through a meeting with women. Before they exchanged with members of the Committees of Defense of the Revolution and with staff from the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP).

Their tour will continue through the center and west of the country. These meetings reinforce the historical relations of solidarity between the peoples of the European nation and the Island. (Dania Díaz Socarrás / Radio Cadena Agramonte.) (Photos bythe author and Bárbara Suárez´s FB profile)
