Camaguey, Dec. 6 - Plastic artist Oscar Jr. Rodríguez Martínez will make the XI Small Format Biennial the spot to open his third personal exhibition in 2019.
Palindromes is the name of the exhibition that will be inaugurated this Friday, December 6, in the República 289 Gallery, composed of 42 abstractions, which has titles such as The Nothing of the Wise, The Peace of the Denier or When Chaos returns without warning.
According to the local artist, “art is not conditioned, art emerges”, so the exhibition tries from the name itself to find different and free readings, because as the word indicates, palindromes are those words that can be read from right to left and vice versa, maintaining its meaning.
Although the abstractions themselves do not have a specific theme, Oscar Jr. Rodríguez says that he used as references the city walls, the cross-outs, its half-built walls, and the rest is pure poetry, because abstraction is the ultimate manifestation of plastic arts.
The curatorship of the exhibition is in charge of Liana Vega Adán and in terms of formats it will vary from 20 cm frames to two meters, measures that have characterized the author's work.
Palindromes will be in the Republica 289 gallery for a month, to find in the curious that go through their doors a reason to give free rein to imagination from any position in which they look at it. (Claudia Artiles Díaz / Radio Camagüey) (Photo:https://radiocamaguey.wordpress.com)
