ALBA-TCP Summit will evaluate new challenges from Cuba



Havana, Dec. 14 - Today the heads of state of the member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) meet in Havana to develop the XVII Summit of That integrationist body.

The high-level event will celebrate 15 years of creating this space, the work of the leaders of the Cuban Revolution and the Bolivarian Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz and Hugo Chávez Frías. And, precisely, the momentum and the strengthening of the block are the main objectives of this Summit.

President Nicolás Maduro, upon arriving in Cuba yesterday, affirmed at the José Martí International Airport that we must build a continental struggle front from ALBA, at a time when  there is an economic persecution against our countries from Washington.

"All this attack increases the thinking and the ability to relaunch new roads, with the strengthening of the Alba Bank and the revitalization of the Peoples' Trade Agreement," he said.

In this regard, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza, also highlighted upon his arrival in the Cuban capital, that "we will be evaluating a re-impulse plan of ALBA-TCP at a time of complexities in Latin America, where there is an anti-neoliberal rebellion."
