Havana, Dec. 14 - Anayansi Rodríguez, Cuban Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, presided over the cancellation of a postage stamp on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Qatar.
During the ceremony, at the headquarters of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Rodriguez welcomed Abdullah bin Mohamed Ibrahim Al-Derbasti, who presented his credentials as ambassador of the Arab nation in Cuba just last week.
According to Cubaminrex, the diplomat recalled in her speech the intimate friendship between the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and Emir Father Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
He also referred to the increase in the exchange in various areas, especially in health, and in this regard pointed out that “cooperation between Cuba and Qatar is solid, based on firm pillars, and there is a common will to continue developing ties in all those sectors that can be mutually beneficial ”.
The Cuban hospital of Dukhan is today a symbol of continuity and development of relations between the two nations. It represents a successful example of South-South cooperation for the international community and confirms the usefulness and benefits of the collaboration links between small countries and developing ones, said the Antillean Vice Chancellor.
For his part, Al-Derbasti expressed the will of the Qatari authorities to continue strengthening relations between the two countries, in the political, economic and social spheres.
Leaders of several Cuban organizations and institutions and a representation of officials of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs also participated in the ceremony. (Text and photo: ACN)
