Camagüey, Dec. 20 - Long jumper Juan Miguel Echevarría was again the Best Individual Sports Athlete in the province of Camagüey this year, next to the canoeist Mayvihanet Borges, as voted by the Circle of
Sports Reporters of the Union of Cuban Journalists.
For the second time in a row, Mairelis Zunzunegui, in water polo, and hockey player Darian Valero, were selected the Most Outstanding Athletes in group sports.
Runner Rose Mary Almanza, sprinter Roberto Skyers, and polo players Lisbeth Santana and Giraldo Carales, make up the list of the top ten of the year, along with boxers Julio César La Cruz (91 kg), Damián Arce (52 kg), and Dainier Peró (+91 kg).
Likewise, chess player Carlos Daniel Albornoz, and Alexander Ayala and Dianelis Porro, from the local men's and women's baseball teams, respectively, are in that group.
The Bulls of the Camagüey, starred in the 2019 event.
The Boxing local team was the most outstanding team, obtaining the ninth consecutive crown at the Playa Girón National Tournament and excelling in the last two editions of the National Series.
The best disabled athlete was Gerdan Fonseca, and Guillermo González and Lázaro Rodríguez, the most outstanding male athletes with disabilities, while volleyball player Johan Armando León was awarded as a contract player. (ACN) (Photos: Archive)
