The creation of Popular Power on November 7, 1976 marked important transformations in government management in our country, with the incorporation of citizens from all sectors of society to the various structures, from a constituency to the Parliament itself.
After 43 years, it is comforting to look back and see that in these years of intense battle in Cuba; truly beautiful works have been done, thanks to a transparent, democratic and genuinely popular government system.
As Ramón Martín Castro, founder of the Provincial Assembly of Power of Camagüey, recalls, in 1976, events of transcendental importance occurred in our country for those who would have the mission to serve and represent the people.
The proclamation of the Cuban Constitution, the first elections of delegates to the Municipal Assemblies and the creation of the National Assembly, considered the highest legislative body of the country, were mentioned as important events.
