Camagüey, Feb. 10 - The Balance Assembly of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) in this municipality was the last one carried out at that level in the province, as part of the process of the XII Congress of the organization.
The exchange emphasized the performance of the Cooperative Boards of Directors, the growth of the associates, the work with young people and women, the incorporation of peasants´children who culminate the ninth grade to the study of agricultural technical careers, and the linking of grassroots organizations with the social life of the community.
At the center of the discussions was also the increase in production and yields, the application of science to the field, the use of agroecological techniques, and the development plan of cooperatives until 2030.
The president of ANAP in the municipality of Camagüey, ratified in the Assembly of Congress, Elizabeth Arca Morell, said that it is a pending task to incorporate farms and cooperatives to artificial insemination, and increase production in all lines, corresponding to the potential.
At the assembly of the XII ANAP Congress in Camagüey, the last of the province at that level, the delegates ratified the willingness to work harder to face the limitations caused by the resurgence of the Yankee blockade against Cuba.
This implies, they asserted, seeking alternatives to each difficulty and raising efficiency, the only response that will reduce imports, generate exports, achieve territorial self-supply, and produce more for the people. (Text and photo: Miozotis Fabelo Pinares / Radio Rebelde Correspondent)
