Cuban Government demands responsibility before Covid-19

Havana, Mar 26.- If the school year was suspended in the current scenario, it is not so that our children and youth are now on the streets. It is so that they stay at home, with all the responsibility and commitment that this entails on the part of the family, insisted President Díaz- Canel.

On Wednesday during the daily work conducted to evaluate the current situation, the Head of State said it is necessary to minimize, as much as possible, contagion risks, in which he considered it vital to continue promoting the social isolation of the largest number of people. Associated with this, he emphasized the urgency of, as already indicated, avoiding unnecessary meetings in the workplace.

These are times –he said– of looking for alternatives and promoting different ways of doing things, such as working remotely, even in the business system, whenever the work allows it.

Likewise, it emphasized principles that must continue to be rigorously attended to, such as detailed work in airports, which allows people with symptoms to be detected from there, and the operation of isolation centers that have been conditioned so that travelers arriving at country comply with the 14 days of quarantine established.

On the work in the communities, the Minister of Public Health, José Ángel Portal Miranda, announced that more than 3,500,000 people continue to be investigated daily, of which some 32,000 have been identified with respiratory symptoms and almost all of them has been attended by the family doctor.

The work carried out as part of these actions, he said, is also essential, in order to isolate in time those who can be identified as contacts of people suspected of carrying the disease or already confirmed patients.

On the other hand, the deputy Prime Minister, Roberto Morales Ojeda, stressed the importance of guaranteeing all health personnel the necessary protection means. He also stressed the importance of the use of masks by health personnel and the population.

Avoiding crowds was the final call made by the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz. This is the time - he said - to avoid unnecessary paperwork, because in the actions that we adopt today the lives of our people also go. ) (Photo: Revolution Studies)
