Paris, Mar 30.- The device of partial unemployment activated in France in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic reaches an unprecedented figure of 2,200,000 employees, said Labor Minister Muriel Pénicaud .
In statements to the RTL station, the official specified that 220,000 companies have requested the measure for their employees, a decision with which the government seeks to protect employment in the face of the economic crisis derived from the prolonged impact of Covid-19.
According to Pénicaud , requests grow daily, and 65 thousand more entities had already done so on Friday than on Thursday, with a total of 600 thousand people incorporated.
This week, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Bruno Le Maire, stated that the measure applied by France to preserve work was the most generous and effective in Europe, guaranteeing compensation of around 70% of gross salary and 84 of net, from the contribution of the State.
However, some companies reported that the executive rejects their requests for partial unemployment, on the grounds that they do not belong to benefited sectors or must maintain their service.
Government discourse is one thing and reality is another, warned the Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises.
In this regard, Minister Pénicaud stated that few requests have been rejected and for justified reasons. (Text and Photo: PL)
