Havana, 1st Apr.- Due to the global epidemiological situation caused by the increasing spread of the new coronavirus, the Cuban Institute of Music (ICM) decided to postpone the issue of the XXIV International Music Fair Cubadisco for 2021.
According to the ICM note, the most important festival of the record industry in the country will be held between May 15 and 23, and the musical and audiovisual works will remain in competition for the Prize.
The Press Award will also be kept as a novelty, a fair demand of that important group of professionals in the cultural sector and Spain will be the Guest of Honor.
The Cubadisco International Music Fair constitutes the main platform for the presentation, promotion and commercialization of the Cuban record industry, through theoretical meetings, phonographic releases and sales of materials that usually make up its annual program.
Contest for the Cubadisco Awards in its seven thematic areas, works from the country's four official labels ( Egrem , Bis Music , Colibrí and Abdala) and independent productions whose nomination validates their quality, based on the verdict of a rigorous jury, usually composed of prestigious musicians on the national scene.
