Havana, May 13 .- DNB executives, stated that they still do not have an official date to start the 60 National Series, postponed since April 11 due to the Covid-19 crisis.
The postponement of the opening day also spoiled plans to implement a new competition system. The approved structure will no longer apply, confirmed on the Jit digital portal, the official website of Cuban sports.
Waiting for July 31, when the largest of the Antilles will be allowed to resume athletic competitions, the entity values four variants of structure, all with more than 50 games, always seeking to conclude in January 2021 so that it does not affect international commitments .
Reynoso blurted out that the new schedule outline will take elements from the previous and projected structure, including holding five games a week in a race against time looking to make up for lost weeks.
The exchange with different media and fans served to know, in addition, that Cuban players with contracts in the Mexican Baseball League may be in that program when the global situation is normalized.
Contracts with the Mexican League are maintained. None have been dispensed with. If that tournament is held, the hired players will participate, said the DNB commissioner.
