Camagüey, May 21.- Approaching the hurricane season in Cuba, from June 1 to next November 30, actions are ready in this city to successfully face that period.
Despite the postponement of the Meteor Exercise by Covid-19 this year, the organizations, entities and institutions of the territory point out their disaster risk reduction plans.
According to Daniel Pérez González, head of the Civil Defense group of the Defense Council in Camagüey, the Communal Services workers work intensively in the sanitation of the city.
Likewise, work is being done in planning tasks for the protection of the population and in other measures related to the pruning and cutting of trees that offer danger, as well as the clearing and cleaning of rivers and ditches.
In the context of social isolation due to the new coronavirus, citizens are oriented to disciplined compliance with the guidelines indicated by the Civil Defense. (Text: Rodolfo Medina Hechavarría / Radio Camagüey.) (Photo: File)
