Washington, May 23.- The National Network of Solidarity with Cuba in the United States (NNOC) demanded that the US government put an end to the disinformation campaign maintained today against Cuba.
In a statement released on its social networks, the coalition of organizations condemned Washington to take the step of including Cuba in a list of countries that do not fully cooperate "with the alleged anti-terrorism efforts of the United States."
Such action, the NNOC considered, is especially reprehensible in the midst of the SARS CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic and the main role Cuba is playing in the global fight against the pandemic.
The NNOC highlighted that Cuba has supported nations and people around the world, by sending health professionals to help those in need in times of crisis, and historically has offered a rational voice on a wide range of issues aimed at global improvement and global collaboration.
It is the height of hypocrisy that the US government accuses Cuba of not opposing terrorism, the coalition maintained, adding that this movement is another attempt to distort the truth about the country.
We demand that the United States government end its disinformation campaign aimed at justifying its demonic treatment of Cuba, which dehumanizes the Cuban people, the NNOC said.
It also demanded that the Donald Trump administration be held accountable for spreading inaccurate information about Cuba and other world territories.
The truth, the text points out, is that the US government has financed, armed, educated and supported terrorist actions around the world, while orchestrating and supporting coups d'état, and launching destabilization campaigns against countries that oppose its ideas. (Text and Photo: PL)
