Havana, May 26 .- Cuban violinist William Roblejo and his group Roblejo´s Trío opened the week of online concerts in support of the isolation measures due to Covid-19.
Since the beginning of the confinement stage, the instrumentalist has used the challenges summoned on social networks to urge young musicians to take advantage of time and continue their studies, while calling for an exchange to stay connected by publishing videos making a solo from its referent in the jazz world.
The recital was broadcast on the frequencies of Canal Clave, Radio Progreso, YouTube channel of the Ministry of Culture and link to one hundred Facebook pages, with the tags # SomosContigo # MusicosPorCuba.
Chair of Strings at the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory, for more than ten years, Roblejo has participated in Izar Banderas, by Emilio Vega, and Only Love Saves Us, with Alain Pérez, songs composed in the heat of confronting the new coronavirus.
According to the Cuban Institute of Music, online concerts continue today with djs Ryan and Reitt ; followed by David Blanco and his group; on Thursday 28 young pianist Aldo López Gavilán and on Friday 29 Remix de Jazz.
The initiative to bring music to virtual platforms began on March 24 with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Cuban Institutes of Music and Radio and Television, as well as La Rueda Films, RTV Comercial and other collaborators.
To date, more than thirty performers and ensembles have joined, such as the Spiral Duo, the centennial Septeto Habanero, Omara Portuondo and the Failde Orchestra, Alejandro Falcón and Cubadentro, Adrián Berazaín , David Blanco, Buena Fe and Luna Manzanares. (Text and Photo: PL)
