Covid-19 in Cuba: 14 days without critical cases and 13 without deaths

Havana, Jul 11.- Cuba adds 14 days without critical cases and 13 days without deaths due to Covid-19, a disease that in the world has already exceeded 12 million infected, of which 2,413 have been confirmed in Cuba since last March.

In the national territory, during the last 15 days, only the provinces of Havana and Mayabeque registered new cases, 82 and eight, respectively. Meanwhile, in the rest of the country - even though samples continue to be analyzed - all indicators related to the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic remain at zero.

The head of Public Health affirmed that the 76 active patients remaining in the country are admitted to the capital, six of them come from the neighboring province of Mayabeque. Also in Havana are the two local transmission events that remain open in the Cuban archipelago: one in the municipality of Centro Habana, where a total of 56 cases have been confirmed; and the other in Cerro, which on the last day reported a new patient, for 22 so far.

Precisely over Havana, Deputy Governor Yanet Hernández Pérez specified that today the occupation in hospitals, where Covid-19 is specifically attended, is 17.4%. In general, she said, 1,350 positive cases have been confirmed in the territory, 10 this Friday, which correspond to the municipalities of Centro Habana, Cerro, Diez de Octubre, Arroyo Naranjo, Cotorro and La Lisa.

Hernández Pérez said that active research is intensifying in the province, especially in vulnerable areas and groups, including elderly people living alone and people over 60 years of age.
