Havana, Jul 21.- Two renowned specialists in our national sport have been chosen to join commissions in the Caribbean Baseball Confederation (Cocabe).
This was disclosed to Jit by authorities of that discipline in the country, referring to Luis Daniel del Risco and Carlos del Pino, experts in the areas of judges and statistics, respectively.
Del Risco, who also serves as treasurer of the Cuban Baseball Federation (FCB), will serve as vice president of the Cocabe Arbitration Commission, an entity affiliated with the Pan American Baseball Confederation (Copabe).
Del Pino, will take over as president of the Statistics Commission, committed to sabermetric analysis and the safeguarding and dissemination of baseball history in the region.
Rodolfo Puente and Margarita Mayeta also play roles in the Cocabe, the first of them —even— with the status of founder. Both make up the executive and also chair the Technical and Women's Baseball commissions, respectively.
George de Lira maintains the presidency of the Cocabe, after re-election in late 2019.
The organization emerged in the present decade and tries to increase its activities, in an environment with enormous prominence for the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CBPC). (Jit) (Photo: Cocabe)
