Brasilia, Jul 27 - Brazil´s health professionals lodged another complaint at the International Criminal Tribunal (TPI), based in Netherlands, against President Jair Bolsonaro for his negligent stance in the fight against Covid -19.
The G1 news portal indicated that the complaint by the Brazilian Trade Union Network UNISalud, a coalition of health workers, was addressed to chief prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda.
According to UNISalud, its member entities are represented more than a million health workers, in the public and private sectors, in 18 Brazilian states, plus the Federal District.
The health workers said the far-right president committed crimes against humanity by 'serious and deadly failures in his conduct to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.'
In accordance with the lawsuit, 'the materiality of crimes committed is duly confirmed, as it is proven that Bolsonaro´s actions and omissions seriously affect physical and mental health of the Brazilian people, putting them at risk of a letal virus and, with uncontrolled spread capacity with risk of death or irreversible aftermaths.'(Prensa Latina)
