Havana, Aug 3.- Cuban canoe will debut with good possibilities, in the tournament of that sport at the XX Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020, postponed until the summer of 2021 due to the worldwide spread of Covid-19.
According to the new disclosed calendar of the multisport event in the Japanese capital in the midst of the new coronavirus, the actions in this sport, in calm waters, will be in the Canal del Bosque de Mar, from July 2 to 7, and so far Cuba has secured four tickets with the male and female two-seater canoes (C-2).
The calendar also announces competitions for canoeists on days 4 and 5, in the C-1 at 200 meters for women, and the C-1 at a thousand meters for men, on the six and seven.
According to what has been announced, Cuba will not participate in the kayak -sprint- calm water modality, nor in the Slalon, from July 25 to 30 at the Kasai Canoeing Center.
In Tokyo, now 2021, in total there will be 16 tests that will be held, eight male and eight female, 12 in calm waters and four in whitewater. (Text and photo: ACN)
