Havana, Aug 11.- A varied program of book presentations, poetry readings, exhibitions, and staging of plays in hard-to-reach communities, will be part of the August 13 Conference, in homage to the young poets Luis and Sergio Saíz Montes de Oca and Commander in Chief Fidel Castro (1926-2016).
Organized by the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS), which brings together the country's young artistic avant-garde, the activities will take place from this Monday until August 13, the date of the 94th anniversary of the birth of the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution and 63 of the murder of the Saíz brothers, when they were preparing to carry out an action for Fidel's birthday.
Once again, the program will host the ascent to Pico Turquino (the highest point in Cuba with 1,974 meters above sea level) and the visit to Luis and Sergio's birthplace in the current Pinar del Río municipality of San Juan y Martínez.
On August 13, the actions will reach Artemisa, where in the space La AHS y su historia, led by Lic. Mabel Martínez Deulofeu, director of the Mausoleum Tribute to the Saíz brothers, the card will be delivered to the new associates, and at five in the afternoon in the 3D Room, there will be a concert by Pancho Amat and the group Tiempos de Sí.
Likewise, in Mayabeque the personal expo Humanites, by artist Lázaro Reinier Tamayo, will be inaugurated at the AHS Gallery; and in Matanzas there will be the presentation of the book Fidel and the AHS, in the Colonial Patio, provincial headquarters of the organization and a trova with Silvio Raúl Torres, Javier Alejandro, Rey Pantoja and Carlos Fidel Taboada as guests.
According to the press release, Villa Clara will host on the date an artistic gala of the Coronavida project, in the Cifuentes municipality, with the performance of the troubadour Yatsel Rodríguez and the group Café Pilongo, and the poets Sergio García Zamora, Ernesto González and the trio Words .
On the other hand, in Cienfuegos the concert of Ariel Barreiro and guests will be held; and in Sancti Spíritus there will be the inauguration of the collective exhibition Convergencias II and a poetry reading by Ariel Fonseca, 2019 Calendar award; while in Ciego de Ávila, the documentary Why We Fight, dedicated to the Saíz brothers, will be screened at Café Barquito.
According to the information, in Camagüey a tree planting will take place in the Botanical Garden; in Las Tunas the unveiling of the identifier of the provincial headquarters of the AHS, by Amaury del Río; and in Holguín an electronic music concert with DJs from the organization.
In Santiago de Cuba, for its part, the central activity for the commemoration will be held in the Palma Soriano municipality, in a meeting with authorities of the territory and a panel on the work of the AHS, workshops of appreciation-creation to children of the community and Ventana performance will arrive at the Central Park, a program of public interventions with the participation of the stage experimentation group La Caja Negra.
