Camagüey, Aug 14.- With the presentations that the Camagüey Folkloric Ballet (BFC) will make tonight and tomorrow Saturday at the Main Theater of this city, the prestigious local company is preparing to premiere several shows on the occasion of its 29th anniversary.
According to Reinaldo Echemendía, creator and general director of the collective, several Habaneras will star as a dance tribute to Eusebio Leal.
That will be our way of honoring his memory and legacy, he said, because the dancers will wear all the typical outfits of the time, used in the capital of the island, a city to which he dedicated his life from the tireless work to preserve its heritage charms.
In addition, fragments of other pieces already created for previous shows will be danced, such as Oddí-Oché, an interpretation of the deities Yemayá and Oshún, whose main scene will be in charge, by the teachers and first dancers Elsa Avilés and Janixe Jiménez, respectively.
The artist also explained that rumbas, congas and comparsas will be danced, and the piece San Lázaro, and they will share the stage with the Harlequín Children's Company.
The presentation of the children will last around 10 minutes, an honor for us, as it is the proof of the integration of the new generations with the BFC, he assured.
At the end of the show we will pay tribute to the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, he added, who through his creative vision always favored the development of art, and thanks to his work, companies like ours exist.
