University of Camagüey held last graduation of 2019-2020 school year

Camagüey, Sep 18.- The last group of graduates from the University of Camagüey in the 2019-2020 school year, received this Thursday the degrees that names them as higher-level professionals of engineering and bachelor's degrees who were studying before the break in the month of March, due to the Covid-19.

At the event, the best graduates were recognized, as well as the Awards for Scientific Merit, and students and professors were recipients of the Youth for Life Distinction, awarded by the Union of Young Communists to those who worked prominently during the most complex months in Camagüey from the pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2.

This constitutes the seventeenth act of awarding diplomas carried out by the Agramontina house of higher studies, including those carried out in the Municipal University Centers and that of foreign scholars, in the months of June and July, which completes the figure of more 1,400 graduates in the most recent teaching calendar.

On behalf of the graduates, Jorge Blanco Mujica, who received special recognition for his dedication to the work of the University Student Federation, expressed the deep gratitude of all to the institution that formed them.

At the University of Camagüey, the first one created by the Revolution, more than two thousand students continue with the evaluation activities, to end the 2019-2020 academic year next November, in accordance with the specifications of the country's highest leadership.

Despite the adverse circumstances that the territory presents with the appearance of six new positive cases for Covid-19 at the beginning of this week, students from 10 provinces and 58 municipalities of the country are determined to complete their teacher training, taking into account all measures aimed at keeping the pandemic out of the classroom. (Text and photo: Elianis Cutiño López / Radio Cadena Agramonte)
