In Mesa Redonda premiere of video Era, dedicated to Alicia Alonso

La Habana, 20 oct.- Mesa Redonda will premiere the music video part of the album tribute to Alicia Alonso prima ballerina assoluta debuts today as a world premiere.

Today, National Culture Day, will be the premiere of the video clip of this instrumental work composed by Daniel Martín Subiaut and performed by Frank Fernández and Jorge Saade, with the co-production of the Latin Institute of Music (ILM) and the Recording and Publishing Company Musicals (EGREM).

According to Daniel Martín Subiaut, president of the Latin Institute of Music, Era has been highlighted by the Latin Grammy Academy in the category of Best Recording of the Year, and is, in turn, the first premiere of the official phonogram dedicated to the centenary of Alicia Alonso, who compiles 12 songs composed for the dancer.

This new phonogram has the musical production of a wide list of Cuban stars, including the teachers Chucho Valdés Oficial, Frank Fernández and Edesio Alejandro.

For its part, a large multidisciplinary team participated in the video clip to achieve the audiovisual tribute dreamed of to Alicia Alonso, which is not based on her emblematic figure but on her impact on new generations.

It was filmed at various locations in the Gran Teatro de la Habana, an emblematic place for Cuban ballet and for the song's composer, who made his debut in it during 1995, and now returns with his music to honor Alicia.

The musicologist Hjandy Cantero, who had the original idea for the video script, developed it as an executive producer for the oldest record company in Cuba.

Other participating personalities were the actress Gina Caro, with a special performance, and Patricia Hernández Ortega, first dancer of Laura Alonso's ballet.

The choreography was in charge of Héctor Figueredo Abrantes and the dramatic advice was provided by Maitre Lourdes Álvarez, the premiere of the audiovisual will be announced soon by the Ministry of Culture. (ACN) (Photo: File)
