Díaz-Canel participates in ECLAC virtual forum

Havana, Oct 26. The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), celebrates this Monday its 38th session, which will take place virtually until next Wednesday, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the opening session, Carlos Alvarado, president of Costa Rica, will take part in the pro tempore presidency of the organization that Cuba has held until today, whose head of state, Miguel Díaz-Canel, will speak at the conference.

In the assembly, the priorities of sustainable development are analyzed and a balance is made of the organism's work in the last two years.

Cuba held this position from the previous ECLAC forum held in Havana in May 2018.

Likewise, representatives of the 46 member countries and 14 associate members will debate policies and proposals for a recovery of the economy of the Latin American and Caribbean nations, with growth, equality and sustainability, in the post-pandemic stage. (Cubadebate) (Photo: PL)
