Pérez Esquivel makes his candidacy for the Nobel Peace Prize official for Cuban doctors



Havana, Oct 27 - The Nobel Peace Prize, Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, a prominent Argentine social activist and painter, made his proposal before the Norwegian Committee on Monday, so that the Internationalist Contingent of Cuban doctors be awarded that own distinction Henry Reeve.

The also defender of human rights presented to the Committee of the European nation the candidacy of the Cuban doctors for the Nobel Peace Prize 2021, for their outstanding and noble work, which they have been carrying out for years, especially in these times of pandemic.

According to the Committee, the proposals must be sent as a deadline before January 31 and presented by those who hold this condition or parliamentarians and ministers, university professors or current or past members of the Committee.

In this sense, on October 12, from France, the deputy François-Michel Lambert also made official before the Norwegian Nobel Committee the request of organizations and citizens of that country to present the distinction to Cuban doctors.

From many parts of the world, dozens of personalities and solidarity committees with Cuba have raised their voices in favor of the granting of this award to Cuban health professionals, who since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic have provided their solidarity aid in various nations. (ACN) (Photo: File)
