Havana, Oct 30.- Iljam Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, signed in plenary session of Parliament, a Law on the establishment of the embassy of that Eurasian nation in Cuba.
The opening of the embassy, approved by a majority of votes, would make an important contribution to the development of relations between the two countries, local political experts highlighted, quoted by the Prensa Latina news agency.
As part of the collaboration between both governments, since last July 13 a brigade of 115 health workers from the Cuban internationalist contingent Henry Reeve, work on Azerbaijani soil, almost all located in the capital's Hospital Number one, for the care of patients with the Covid-19 pandemic.
Currently, a diplomatic representation of this Caucasian nation operates in Havana.
Azerbaijan, whose capital and most important city is Baku, has a population of more than 10 million inhabitants in an area of 86,600 square kilometers and is the largest sovereign country in the Caucasus region. (ACN) (Photo: File)
