Camagüey evaluates compliance with State Plan to face climate change



Camagüey, Nov 28.- Various actions framed in the Life Task, were checked this Friday in Camagüey, at a meeting of the Provincial Climate Change Group, chaired by the local delegation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA).

Liosha Áreas Artiles, CITMA delegate in the territory, emphasized the importance of achieving an integrated work on Santa Lucía beach, with an innovative perspective to mitigate the effects of meteorological phenomena, given their intensity and frequency in that coastal area. 

At the meeting, in addition, Fausto Alberto Ceballos Fernández, engineering works specialist of the Hydraulic Research and Projects Company, provided information about the current state of the north coast and some solutions that must necessarily be included in the economy plan for later years.

Likewise, allusion was made to the heavy rains of the previous days, which led the Camagüey Environmental Research Center (CIMAC), CITMA and the Santa Lucía Saline Station to analyze the drainage situation in that area. Spa.
