Promotion of officers in Camagüey strengths commitment to the defense of the Homeland

Camagüey, Dec 1.- This morning the promotion ceremony of the local Military Region was held, on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the Granma journey and the Day of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, founded on December 2, 1961.

Promotion to the next higher grade was received by 22 officers, thanks to their discipline and good performance in their daily responsibilities, in addition to their outstanding performance in the defense of the Homeland.

With the presence of the headquarters of the Military Region, the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) in the province, and at the same instance, representatives of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Union of Civil Defense Workers, the ceremony was held, where the commitment to the Revolution was reaffirmed.

On behalf of those promoted, Lieutenant Colonel Alexis Diéguez Estrada spoke, who demonstrated the emotion of the moment, and thanked the families for their unconditional support to the officers, which makes full dedication to duty more viable.

In addition, the Special Forces battalion was recognized, which celebrates its 34th anniversary on this day, taking into account the excellent results in military discipline, in personal preparation, regulatory order and the fulfillment of the missions entrusted in this 2020.

Supporting the MININT during the confrontation with the Covid-19 pandemic is among the most relevant tasks of the calendar, to which, without hesitation, the young soldiers took the step forward, as stated by Major Dario Blanco Ge, head of Special Troops in the Military Region of the territory.

Similarly, Blanco Ge reaffirmed that the force to which he belongs has increased its preparation, under the guidance of the ideas of Fidel, ready for the call of the President of the Republic, the Party and the people, to defend at all times the sovereignty and the principles of the Cuban Revolution. (Text and photos: Elianis Cutiño López / Radio Cadena Agramonte)
