Havana, Jan 25.- The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz- Canel, wished his Mexican counterpart, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, a prompt and complete recovery, after learning that the president contracted Covid-19.
Through his Twitter account, Díaz- Canel reiterated the day before Cuba's willingness to support as much as it may be useful.
We received with regret news of contagion with Covid-19 from President @ lopezobrador, wrote Díaz- Canel, who also shared a tweet from the Mexican president where he reports on his condition.
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, 67, announced this Sunday that he has tested positive for Covid-19 and that he is under medical treatment despite having mild symptoms.
This Latin American nation accumulates 1.7 million sick people and close to 150 thousand deaths, data that places it in the fourth country in the world in number of deaths, behind the United States, Brazil and India, according to John Hopkins University. (Text and photo: PL)
