Havana, Cuba, Nov 17.- Commander of British destroyer Manchester, of the UK Royal Navy, Lieutenant Commander Rex Cox, said today that they are interested in coming to Cuba often.
Cox said it was an honor and privilege for him to arrive to Havana, on occasion of the 491st anniversary of its foundation by Spanish colonists on November 16, 1519.
Referring to visits to the ship by the Cuban people tomorrow, Cox said he hopes to see many people.
"We will be proud to show them a piece of our boat," he said, referring to the destroyer 141 meters long and 13.6 meters wide, which is anchored in the Cruise Terminal.
Launched to the sea in 1980, the Manchester has a displacement of 5, 200 tons and a maximum speed of 30 knots, and traveled through Caribbean waters for the first time last May. (Prensa Latina).
