Camagüey, Cuba, May 18.- The Vietnamese ambassador to Cuba recently said that the people from his country consider Cubans as brothers and is confident on the success of the guidelines for the economic policy of the country recently passed by the 6th Congress of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC).
Ambassador Vu Chi Cong made the statement during a visit to the central province of Camaguey, in a meeting with PCC and Parliament leaders of the province.
During the encounter, Vu Chi Cong asked about the consequences of the lack of rains reported this year in the province, specifically the impact on the agricultural activity.
Angel Morales Ventura, member of the Provincial PCC Politburo told the ambassador about recent actions implemented in the province such as the leasing of idle land to farmers, actions to increase the production of certain goods to reduce imports and the development of stockbreeding.
Vu Chi Cong visited Camaguey on his way to the eastern region of the country which will host activities for the 121st anniversary of the birth of Ho Chi Minh, on May 19.
The Vietnamese ambassador said his delegation will pay tribute not only to Vietnam’s National Hero but also to Jose Marti, who died at war on May 19, 1895 in Granma.
The Vietnamese delegation presented Camaguey’s government and Party leaders with the book Political Writings by Ho Chi Minh, and received by the hands of Morales Ventura a painting about a typical Camaguey’s courtyard. (acn).
