Managua, Jun 6.- Nicaragua's Inter-university Commission of Culture approved an action plan to spread the struggle against the US blockade against Cuba and for the release of the Five anti-terrorist Cuban fighters unfairly held in US prisons.
A communiqué released by the Cuban Embassy in Managua said the agreement was unanimously adopted during a meeting of the commission held on June 3 at the headquarters of the National University Council (CNU).
The first stage of the action plan will involve the country's four public universities, and will be later extended to the rest, according to the source.
Activities in the plan include film discussions and analysis of highly topical subjects by students and professors.
The meeting of the Inter-University Commission of Culture was attended by a Cuban diplomat, who explained main transformations in the Island as a result of the ongoing process to improve Cuba's socialist model.
He also referred to the 6th congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, held in April, and the economic and social guidelines approved in the meeting.
In this regard, he reiterated the need to spread what is happening in the Island in order to deny defamation campaigns against Cuba, some of which are repeated by right-wing media in Nicaragua. (Prensa Latina).
