Camagüey, July 24.- General Ignacio Agramonte Revolution Square welcomed those who graduated from Carlos J. Finlay Medical Science University; new healthcare professionals that will join the army in white coats that watches over the people’s health.
The graduates are 248 new medical practitioners, plus 37 stomatologists, 66 Bachelors in nursing, 980 technicians specialized in healthcare and 14 psychologists.
Of those who graduated there are 133 foreigners coming from 22 friendly countries.
Dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, the 10th of the foundation of the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) and the 20th of the creation of Mario Muñoz Monroy Movement, the most outstanding students were awarded Diplomas of Honor at the graduation ceremony.
The Medical Science University of Camagüey embraces more than 12 000 students in its classrooms, and more than 600 of them are foreigners from 42 nations; being a modest contribution to the internationalism which is a practice that has characterized the Cuban Socialist State for decades in this field.
