Camagüey, Mar 10.- Investments contributing to replace imports and increase exports totalled 22 in Camagüey, by virtue of the agreements signed as part of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA).According to statements by Iris Cruz, territorial representative in Camagüey of the Foreign Trade Ministry the investments include four national entities of the basic and the light industries, the food and fishing ministry, and of the agriculture.
The official also added that there are 10 investments in the agriculture, basically in the poultry farms and in the production of seeds, fruits and the animal husbandry.
For the development of ovine and caprine breeds, ten areas have been selected in the municipality of Camaguey, Vertientes, Minas, Guáimaro, Céspedes, Esmeralda and Florida.
The project to boost fruit forests should be implemented by Cultivos Varios Camagüey local company in three stages, covering 23 farms, five of them already developed in 2008; two avocado, one coconut, one mango and one guava.
The investments corresponding to the Light Industry include six programs: two workshops of saddlery, three to employ people with disabilities and one workshop of craftsmanship.
The northern municipality of Nuevitas has extraordinary potentials for exporting goods, after Geominera company carried out investments in mines of chrome and gold; likewise this industrial centre also produces fertilizers, cement plus barbed wires and electrodes.
Cooperation between the Cuban and the foreign capitals allows the country to produce more and spend little in imported goods, and ultimately use the money for developing national enterprises and improving the export capabilities. (AIN/Radio Cadena Agramonte).
