Havana, Cuba, Jan 15.- The Cuban film Casa Vieja, by Lester Hamlet, will open the Festival of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas (ALBA), which will take place next week in Brussels, Belgium.
Also participating in the event will be works from Nicaragua, Bolivia, Ecuador and Venezuela, which are also members of that initiative for integration inspired by the greatest dream of the Liberator, Simon Bolivar.
The objective of this Festival, to be held from January 19th through the 29th, is to show the region’s film production and the cultural richness of its peoples, the Prensa Latina news agency reported.
The event, the venue of which will be the Piano Fabriek cultural center, is a project by the Commission of the Flemish Community of Belgium, which organizes activities of international nature, and at the same time a workshop to train artists.
In addition to Casa Vieja, the Caribbean island will be represented by La Edad de la Peseta, by filmmaker Pavel Giroud.
Venezuela, which will show the feature film Macuro, will close this event of the ALBA with the documentary Posada Carriles, terrorism made in the USA, about this criminal of Cuban origin, a former agent of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). (acn).
