Paris, Oct 20 - Deputies from various political forces in the French National Assembly reiterated today their rejection of the US blockade against Cuba, during a farewell meeting with the island's ambassador Elio Rodríguez.
At the headquarters of the Lower House of Parliament, members of the France-Cuba Friendship Group stressed their solidarity with the blocked Caribbean country and their commitment to continue working to achieve the end of the economic, commercial and financial siege imposed by Washington for more than six decades.
They also expressed their willingness to support the strengthening of bilateral ties, in a meeting in which they awarded the National Assembly medal for his contribution to the development of Paris-Havana relations to Rodríguez, who in the next few days will complete his mission. diplomat on Gallic soil.

The Cuban ambassador thanked the parliamentarians for their solidarity, denounced the effects of the US blockade on the daily lives of the island's inhabitants and recalled the impact of the extraterritorial nature of the siege on bilateral relations.
Rodríguez also highlighted the state of ties between the two countries in the political-diplomatic, economic-commercial and cooperation spheres, and the island's willingness to deepen them in all sectors.
