Camagüey, Nov 9 - Tempered by the current epidemiological situation and with a record of participation of registered works, this Monday the ninth edition of the International Video Art Festival of Camagüey (FIVAC) was inaugurated based on the sociocultural project El Circuito.

“Once again, the Circuit for the Exhibition, Development and Research of New Media (CEDINM) welcomes the festival, ready with energy and means to contribute to the successful development of this atypical edition, which will take place only in three days and for the first time it will not contemplate the development of the theoretical event or the usual exhibitions in the city's gallery system”, stated Jorge Luis Santana Pérez, president of the Organizing Committee.

During the evening, the public was able to enjoy a selection of materials including topics related to phenomena such as migration, abandonment, loneliness and conflicts that go beyond life and death, happiness, dreams, computerization or mere human existence.

The Pixels Gallery of the El Circuito project, located on Ignacio Agramonte street, in the provincial capital, will open its doors this Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 am to noon, and later from 6:00 pm. until 9:00 pm with the projection of the videos in competition.

“Despite the pandemic, or any circumstance that could hinder hope, creation was there, so we will have the pleasure of enjoying it; a creation that enhances us and makes us better”, said Teresa Bustillo, principal curator of FIVAC.

A total of 90 pieces from 23 countries make up the official list of the Agramontino audiovisual contest whose call closed on February 14 and proposes constant interaction through the different social networks on the Internet and the website www.fivacuba.com .
