Havana, Nov. 9 - Cuban Leuris Pupo finished in tenth place in the 25-meter rapid-fire pistol at the President's Rifle and Pistol Cup, based in Wroclaw, Poland.

Pupo, Olympic king in London 2012 and runner-up in Tokyo 2020, achieved identical shots of 287 points in rounds one and two (Sunday and Monday), insufficient to reach the final of six contenders.

On Sunday, the man from Holguin registered series of 97, 94 and 96 units, and this Monday of 97, 97 and 93. Without a doubt, the marks of 94 and 93 prevented him from accessing the medal dispute.

The leaders of the qualifying phase were the Chinese Yuehong Li (592), the German Christian Reitz (590), the French Clement Bessaguet (581), the Polish Oskar Miliwek (581), the Frenchman Jean Quiquampoix (580) and the Estonian Peeter Olesk (579).

Li took bronze at the last Tokyo 2020 Olympics, while Quiquampoix claimed the crown. The end of this test was announced for this Monday, but at the time of writing this note the results were not yet located. (JIT)
