National Craft Fair in Camagüey: a show of good taste and tradition

Camagüey, Nov. 19 - From November 18 to 28, the Fairgrounds of the city of Camagüey will host the local edition of the 2021 National Crafts Fair, sponsored by the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets.

Footwear, jewelry, ornaments, ornamental plants, ceramics, furniture and other handicrafts can be purchased from Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. at 6:00 p.m., while on Saturdays and Sundays the hours are extended until 8:00 p.m.

At the inauguration, Belkis Cruz Saragoza, director of the Camagüey branch of the FCBC, expressed the satisfaction of celebrating this event, but without neglecting the hygienic-sanitary measures.

“Different manifestations are exhibited in this pavilion of the Campus, which once again welcomes us; complements the offer in general and provides more options to the population. We remind the public that individual protection continues to be paramount, because now the individual maxim is to enjoy the fair more protected and motivated, "he said.

On this occasion, 25 creators from various cities in the country participate in conjunction with the ARTEX Artistic and Literary Promotion Company, the Cuban Association of Artisans and Artists, and for the first time non-state forms of management are included.

"All with a traditional and innovative work that make available to visitors and people from Camagüey an attractive and varied offer that will undoubtedly be widely accepted, and have as a common element the talent and magic that each creator puts into their work and makes the slogan "Authenticity is our difference" a reality, said the director of the FCBC.

The 2021 National Handicraft Fair is held just when the province is integrated into the new normal after the scourge of COVID-19, to give people from Camagüey a space full of art, good taste and Cuban tradition. (Text and Photos: Mónika de los Ángeles Escobedo Artola)
