Communist Parties of Cuba and China strengthen ties of friendship and mutual cooperation


Havana, Nov 24 - Chaired by the member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and Head of its Department of Social Affairs, Jorge Luis Broche Lorenzo, a videoconference took place between the PCC and the Communist Party of China (CCP).

At the meeting, Broche Lorenzo made an update on the situation in Cuba, the efforts made in the confrontation with the Covid-19 pandemic and the interventionist and destabilizing campaigns against the Cuban Revolution.

On the Chinese side, the member of the Central Committee and head of the International Department, Song Tao, participated, who offered detailed information on the 6th. Plenary session of the Central Committee of his party, in which two important and decisive resolutions for the future of the Asian Giant were approved.

The first of the resolutions contains the major achievements and historical experience accumulated throughout the CCP's centennial, true to its original aspiration and founding mission: to seek the happiness of the Chinese people and the revitalization of the nation.

Song Tao stressed the importance of unity around the General Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of the Republic, Xi Jinping, in order to defend and promote socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, with the purpose of achieving the construction of a modern socialist country for the centenary of the People's Republic of China in the year 2049.

The second resolution approved by the 6th Plenary Session of the CPC Central Committee was the convocation to the XX National Congress of the organization, to be held in the second semester of 2022.

Both parties ratified mutual friendship and political trust, highlighting the interest in continuing to strengthen support and collaboration between our peoples, parties, and governments. (PCC)
