International Scientific and Technological Convention of the University of Camagüey concludes successfully

Camagüey, Nov 27 - More than 1,200 academics participated, online, in the II International Scientific and Technological Convention of the University of Camagüey, an event that concluded with relevant contributions to science.

At the closing of the meeting, Ph.D. Amílcar Arenal Cruz, vice-rector of the University of Camaguey and president of the Organizing Committee, recognized the opportunities that the meeting provided to strengthen international cooperation through the signing of nine agreements with universities and institutions from Spain, Brazil and Mexico, as well as a negotiating table with Germany.

Arenal Cruz meant, as another result of the Convention, the record of participants, including more than 400 foreigners from 23 nations, and the scientific collaboration of the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and the Center for Environmental Engineering of the province.

During the event's report, he highlighted the realization of more than 800 lectures, keynote conferences, panels and round tables related to the applications of artificial intelligence, the internationalization of Higher Education institutions, the management of science and innovation, among other topics.

When intervening in the closing ceremony, Doctor of Science Santiago Lajes Choy, rector at the University, defined this Convention as the most relevant scientific event that the center has carried out, due to the high number of participants, who through the different virtual platforms they participated in scientific meetings.

At the end, Lajes Choy invited everyone to participate in the III International Scientific and Technological Convention, scheduled for May 2023, which, virtually and in person, will become a new space for academic exchange and cooperation.
