Cuba sends another batch of Abdala vaccine to Venezuela

Havana, Nov 29 - A new shipment of more than a million doses of Covid-19 vaccine Abdala were sent from Cuba to Venezuela, reported the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB), developer of the vaccine.

In social networks, the scientific entity reported that the new batch is intended to continue the vaccination of Venezuelans from two years of age on.

Just a few days ago, a previous shipment with 1.5 million doses of the first SARS-Cov-2 vaccine created in Latin America also arrived in that South American nation.

The immunogen constitutes one of the three that Cuba developed as part of its domestic vaccination strategy. Beside this, there are Soberana 02 and Soberana Plus, from the Finlay Vaccine Institute.

In addition to Venezuela, Nicaragua and Viet Nam have received loads of these products from the island, and Iran produces the drug jointly with Cuba. (PL) (File photo)
