Five Cubans will cheer boxing final in Cali-Valle 2021

Buga, Colombia, Nov. 30 - Five Cuban boxers will cheer the final boxing lineup at the Pan American Games in Cali-Valle 2021, after the qualifications reached today on the third-to-last competitive date.

The boxers Jorge Daniel Forcades, 69 kilograms, Khriszthihan Barrera (75), Luis Frank Reynoso (81) and Ronny Álvarez (91) sealed their tickets to the discussion of the titles and joined Ewart Andrés Marín (52), who took that step the day before at the Luis Ignacio Álvarez Coliseum.

Forcades beat Colombian Yeferson Belalcazar 5-0; Barrera imitated him against the American Donte Layne, Reynoso defeated the local Sebastián David Moreno unanimously and Álvarez also left no room for doubt about the American Ali Almajdi.

The date was not perfect due to the setback of Adrián Fresneda (more than 91) against the coffee grower Marlon Andrés Hurtado, capable of taking a CSR that did not convince the island's coaches, according to press reports.

The quintet of fighters will climb the ring again next Wednesday, when the art of Fistiana plans to deliver the 13 sets of medals placed in dispute between men and women since the 26th with the elimination rounds.

The I Junior Pan American Games were officially inaugurated last Thursday at the Pascual Guerrero stadium, after the parade of a representation of the more than 3,500 athletes registered by the 41 National Olympic Committees attached to Panam Sports. (PL)
